Road Trip, Air Trip or No Trip?

Hello again, travel friends! Have you nailed down those summer travel plans yet? If not, it’s probably time. The news tells us that people are traveling again in really high numbers. Airports are jam-packed and a sense of freedom is in the air as those of us held back for the last few years are finally spreading our wings and exploring the US and world once again. Pretty exciting!

Personally, I’ve been planning what will only be our second family road trip in the US as a family of six. Can you believe that? My kids are 22, 20, 18 and 10, and with exception of one fun adventure to Disneyland, we have never driven to vacation.

As a kid, I road tripped to Daytona Beach, Florida, with my grandparents around this time every summer. Then, in college, I took my first flight to Colorado and never looked back. No regrets there. I clearly have developed a love affair with airports and flying. But I think this year, with almost $5 per gallon gas prices and soaring car rental and restaurant costs, is the perfect time to once again take to the open road (I say with sarcasm and soon-to-be empty pockets). Don’t you?

Maybe not our wisest move, eh? And yet, in one month, we will hit the road and keep our fingers crossed for what we anticipate being a great midwest adventure to visit family and friends.

BUT in the spirit of standing alongside the money-wise this summer who will be traveling near home instead, I decided to create a PDF with some curated ideas to satisfy your wanderlust even when you can’t explore as far away from home as you might like. Just click on the link below, place “0” in the amount column, and this one-page document will immediately land in your inbox. It’s full of “travel” you can start enjoying TODAY.
