He started showing up online from his kitchen table and sharing his love of Europe with anyone who signed up to virtually explore with him. I have attended four times and it is a lovely experience…all in good fun.

Now that the world is reopening, Rick is around less and less, but there has been so much success that the virtual adventures continue with his guides from around the world. You can enjoy a Zoom happy hour with their merry band of travelers each week. You'll learn about art, history, culture, food, and more, plus you'll have a chance to ask questions during a live Q&A.

Welcome to all of our new Big Story Living community members! What a joy it is to share this most personal heart project with you. As a wife and mom who became determined to travel EVERYWHERE with my family years ago, I set out on a mission to travel hack our way through the world. Guess what? It worked! Now, with all of this information swirling around in my head, all I want to do is share it with you. . .and keep traveling, of course.

I'm also convinced that intentionally exploring the globe while inviting your faith to join you in the journey makes every adventure even more rich. So, my ultimate mission is to help you make your world travel dreams come true while also inspiring a focus on faith that will take you far beyond the typical touristy holiday experience.

In this space, as well as on Instagram @bigstoryliving, you will find practical tips and tricks to travel the world for "almost free," along with stories, inspiration, "at home travel" ideas, and even opportunities to travel with me. We'll dive into all of this while keeping one eye on the world and the other on the Creator of it all.

Where is Summer Taking You?

I have two girls in college in Colorado and one away in Scotland for grad school. They all come home next week, so the Colón house is about to get much livelier in the coming months. All six of us, along with our geriatric cockapoo, ECO, are setting out on a road trip from Colorado to Kentucky to visit family this July. After 20 years of living in Colorado, we have never road- tripped back home. We always fly. Fingers crossed this will be a fun adventure. Do you have travel plans this summer? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below.

I also can’t stop thinking about taking a “work” trip later in the summer. My most favorite city in the world is Prague. (Remind me to tell you why someday soon.) As you know, summer travel is the MOST expensive. Last-minute summer travel is even worse. But I’m keeping my eye on a few airbnb’s and hotels in Czechia. Luckily, I have the frequent flyer miles to spare. So if you all of a sudden see an airport post of me waiting in line to board a flight out of here, you’ll know I snagged an outrageous deal. It probably won’t happen, but a girl can dream.

Summer With Big Story Living

Wherever I am in the world this summer, Big Story Living won’t be slowing down.

For the next few months, I’ll be shifting towards a focus on curating some new and hopefully exciting experiences to inspire you to travel the world from home while inviting your faith along for the journey. 30 Days in Paris is coming your way in June 2022 and you’re gonna love it! Watch this space.

I’ll also be working towards providing you with curated ways to “travel” as a family in your hometown.

Finally, I’m putting the finishing touches on an opportunity to guide you FOR REAL on a low budget and highly intentional journey to Eastern Europe in 2023.
