Happy Holiday Weekend

Long Weekends Are the Best!

As our family plans to leave on a great American road trip Tuesday morning, I’m admittedly scrambling all over to prepare. Still, I couldn’t take off without sending you all my best wishes for a very happy summer.

It feels like the 4th signals the height of summer excitement for everyone. To be honest, I can take or leave all the red, white and blue festivities, but I love the sense of relaxation that is found as family and friends share meals and drinks while laughing or having conversations that go late into the night. The fresh air…the sunburns…the mosquitoes… Okay, maybe not the mosquitoes. How about lightning bugs? This Colorado girl misses her some lightning bugs! Good thing I’m on my way to Kentucky.

Whatever your weekend plans, here’s to hoping they bring joy to you and to all the others that you are with. Be kind. Be patient. Be loving. Smile. Wonder. Smile some more. Encourage. Bring hope. We could all use a little more of this these days. Yes?

Air Travel on This Holiday Weekend

Have you been following the news? Yikes! I’m so glad we decided to drive to Kentucky and pay $5+ per gallon. Oddly, in the end, it seems like the better deal.

Airports are over-run. Airlines are canceling flights left and right. This is not happy travel news, and my fingers are crossed so tightly in hopes that none of you find yourself stuck in an airport in the coming days. BUT if you do, here’s a little help from me to you. I’ve shared it before, but just in case….

Traveling After the Summer Madness

Maybe you’re staying close to home this summer, but it’s true that you are itching to “go” as soon as the time is right. If you’re like me, all too often you find yourself spending more time wishing for opportunities to experience the world than actually figuring out how to make it happen. At least I used to be that way until I discovered frequent flyer miles.

Here’s two BIG tips to consider if you are ready to stop wishing and start making your travel dreams come true.

1. If you have ever considered dipping your toe into the wonderful world of “almost free” travel, let me suggest you grab this deal while it lasts. It’s a perfect place to start your journey, and if you take the leap and need some help figuring out all the details, just let me know.

This 75,000-mile deal will be gone in like 11 days, so grab it FAST. After 11 days I’m guessing the bonus reward will return to 60,000 where it has camped out for the last year. But mileage of 75,000 is fantastic! For example, it’s enough for a round-trip ticket to anywhere in Europe during off-peak season AND a round-trip ticket to Costa Rica, BOTH!

2. Register today for the Big Story Living Curated Journey to Central Europe! This is so much more than just a holiday. Together, five women (plus me) will learn everything there is to know about gathering and using frequent flyer miles so that our airline tickets are “almost free.” We will decide where to travel and which dates work best (most likely March 3-12ish, 2023). We will create a budget-friendly itinerary and practice all the necessary travel skills for exploring Europe on a dime while keeping one eye on the world and the other eye on Jesus.

Does that last line freak you out just a little? I get it. But don’t fear. Contact me in the comments below, and I’ll send you a personal video with a sample itinerary that will answer lots of questions and set your mind at ease.
