Europe for $5.60

Today I clicked “purchase” and again bought a one way ticket to Europe for $5.60.

For real.

My name is Amy and I’m a 46 year old wife and mom of four who’s been traveling Europe for “almost free” for the last 4 years.

How?

Well, one day I just decided that “someday” was too far away.

I was exhausted and I needed to start taking care of me right away...I knew what I needed. I needed Europe. It was my dream. So, I put my mind to it and basically nerded out on every travel-hacking skill I could possibly find in order to get there. And…

I did it! Three months later I was on a solo, 14 day journey to Prague, Salzburg and Vienna for a total of $729. Yep, that’s flight, overnight stays, food and all.

And now, because of all the immense “cheap travel” information swirling around in this brain of mine, Europe has become my playground.

Next stop…Rome and Florence for a week in November 2022!

But here’s the thing…each time I purchase yet another fabulous deal and start talking to my friends about my next great adventure, I feel a twinge of guilt. They all want to travel, too. For many, their “someday” seems so far away and they can’t imagine how to make their dreams come true, just like me four years back.

I always try to help, but the information really is overwhelming and I have discovered that most people don’t have, nor do they want to have, this geeky, thrifty travel brain that I have nurtured for all these years. They just want to go!

So today, not only did I purchase my $5.60 ticket, I vowed to start sharing my tips and tricks in the most simple and inspiring ways that I possibly can to everyone who doesn’t have the hours to spend nerding out on all the details. Today I decided that I want others to travel the way I do so badly that I started my very own Substack newsletter.

Here I will share my stories, tips, tricks and reasons why I believe traveling the world is the most valuable investment anyone can make in themselves and their family. I’ll also just sprinkle in a lot of travel fun for all of those longing to travel far, far away or simply from the comfort of their own home.

Today I’m officially starting to help YOU adventure the world on as little money as possible. And the goal is not to go just once, but to help you do it again and again and again.

Traveling the world is one of my great joys. It changes me, challenges me and makes me better every single time I say, “yes” to the next journey. Stick with me. I’ll teach you everything I’ve learned and before you know it you’ll be wandering the streets of any city in the world you dream.
