Travel Podcasts Are Coming Back to Life

Travel podcasts are tricky, especially on the heels of a world lockdown. Good news is, the ones who hung in there are slowly being resuscitated. Unlike The Earful Tower who never slowed down for a second during lockdown, but only ramped things up a notch, other podcasters were left to dig deep into the archives and revive old stories and episodes just to get by. Grace to everyone. I just give this as a nod my Top 5 Podcasts List, noting that everyone struggled, most seem to be coming back, and as a new listener you might consider taking a listen to both pre and post-Covid episodes to give each of my 5 favorite podcasts a fair go. That being said, here it is…my #2, Zero to Travel Podcast with Jason Moore.

Zero to Travel - How to Travel the World on Your Terms

Jason Moore is one of the longest running travel podcasters out there. I’ve been listening to him for about four years and I love the inspiration he provides towards living the travel lifestyle you imagine. A native of the US, Jason now lives with his wife, Anne Dorthe, and two kids in Oslo, Norway. Norway is where Anne Dorthe is originally from so now Jason is living the expat dream.

Jason’s podcast varies widely in topic. He interviews a lot of guests who are living as digital nomads or doing wild and crazy things as they travel the globe. Jason talks about money, inspiration, lifestyle, books, other podcasts, travel icons and the travel mindset. He also guides a large digital nomad community and regularly interviews guests from his community on the show.

Jason is eclectic and wise of the world because he has explored it for many years, now making his home miles away from his US home of Boulder, Colorado.

Tip: Jason’s travel podcasts, in my opinion, are best pre-Covid and then starting now with his more current stuff. I mean, who can blame him? There wasn’t a lot of travel news and opportunity happening for a few LONG years. Regardless, this podcast probably made it to number two for me because after years of listening, I guess Jason feels a bit like an old friend. He was one of the first voices in my ear, forming my early mindset around all things travel. I binged Jason’s earlier episodes prior to 2019 and he continues to hang in there even in 2022. Jason is a likable guy and an interviewer who doesn’t step all over his guests. That goes a long way with me. Because of who he is authentically as a person and podcaster, I am ready and willing to go back to again and again.

With all of that being said and in the spirit of how Jason begins every episode, “welcome to the Zero to Travel Podcast, my friend.”
