A Holiday In Your Ears - The Earful Tower
A series of 5 travel podcasts that won't disappoint - #1
While perusing all of the travel podcasts in my que, I see there is no doubt that The Earful Tower gets top billing as my travel escape “go-to” every single time. Everything about The Earful Tower Podcast is fabulous. If you haven’t yet, you must start listening as soon as you finish this post.
Tip: make sure to start from the beginning. Oliver is a storyteller and journalist. Each episode both stands alone AND builds upon the others as he brilliantly shares much of his personal story, which weaves all of the episodes together quite beautifully. Oliver makes you feel like a personal friend as he shares his own life and the lives of countless others who make up the day to day goings on in the City of Light.
Oliver, a native Aussie, and his lovely wife, Lina, who often co-hosts alongside him, are full of joy, adventure, authenticity, intelligence and fun. Together they have written and illustrated two children’s books. Oliver is also the author of “Paris on Air, A Memoir,” while Lina is a shoe designer and artist from Sweden, now living the Paris life.
Oliver’s creativity, journalistic fervor and love of Paris easily sweeps me, as the listener, out of my world and into the streets of Paris for about 45 glorious minutes each week. I love how he doesn’t edit the street noise from the background of his interviews. It makes me feel like I’m right there on Rue Cler or strolling the Seine with him.
But don’t just take it from me. I highly suggest listening today. It’s a free holiday to Paris Monday morning! Now that’s cheap travel.
